Nordic railway seminar 2018
Chalmers University of Technology and Chalmers Railway Mechanics (CHARMEC) are pleased to invite you to the 20th Nordic Seminar on Railway Technology.
The seminar will take place on 12 - 13 June 2018 at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg.
The theme of the seminar is Research and innovations for a sustainable railway.
The objective of the seminar is to gather colleagues especially from the Nordic countries who are active in the railway field. This includes staff from universities, institutes, authorities, manufacturers, operators, maintenance companies and consultancies. Topics to be presented and discussed comprise infrastructure, vehicle and system issues, and all the phases of design, operation and maintenance.
The seminar will take place on 12-13 June 2018 at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg.
The seminar starts at 10.30 on Tuesday 12 June and ends at 15.30 on Wednesday 13 June. The registration opens at 09.30 on 12 June.

It is obtained by referring to the code NJS2018. Please note that the code is only for people attending the conference and that the hotel may compare bookings to the participant list.
Preliminary programme and presentations
The seminar will feature both invited plenary presentations and parallel sessions. The languages of the seminar are English and Scandinavian. Presentations in English, Swedish, Norwegian and Danish are welcome, but slides in English are preferred. The time slot for each presentation is 20 minutes including questions.

An introductory course is offered to all interested delegates. This course covers very basic concepts in wear and crack initiation of different components, material characteristics and design, switches & crossing issues, and noise generation and emission. The course is held on Tuesday 12 June at 8.00 - 10.00.
There is sufficient interest in this course, which means that the course will be held. Please refer to the preliminary program (see link above) for details.
The registration, seminar and introductory course will be held in lecture halls HA1 - HA4 on Hörsalsvägen 4. A map of Chalmers campus Johanneberg is available on-line.
